Gave me a break as I took time off work to take him and pick him up. Made the school holidays shorter. Apart from school there is very little for children with autism to do and go, so I've found the scheme absolutely fantastic for him.
Made very welcome by all staff. Very happy atmosphere. The scheme is fantastic and shortens the summer holiday. If he stayed at home all week he would be banging on the walls. It gives the young people chance to see other pupils and staff that they do not normally spend time with. Also gives them new experiences in the community with peers and offers a different routine. He is used to the changes now.
Thank you so much for the schemes - they make a world of difference to the school holidays. I wish we knew more about other activities in the school. It would be good for her to have more contact with the friends she has made during the scheme. It is really difficult to make sure we are free to give her the chance to attend because we don't find out until July.
This week was the only offered play scheme for the whole summer so I value it highly. Nice varied activities this year although weather was poor. Thank you for all your hard work organising this.
First time on the scheme. The first day was a little strange but after 5 minutes he was fine. It helped because the school was familiar to him and he was familiar with a couple of the staff.
