The Leisure for Autism Play Schemes.

As our name suggests we focus very much on play and leisure and fun. Our activities vary from location to location and depending upon the age and preferences of the children. All our schemes operate in the same way.

Saturday Schemes

2010

Summer This year's schemes were once again very popular with a total of 131 children attending. Each child attended for an average of just over 5 days. Activities were similar to last year. These included swimming, pony riding, trampolining, bouncy castles, country walks, adventure playgrounds, activity centres, ball parks, trips to McDonalds, the cinema, safari parks, Chill Factore, farms and soft play with light sensory stimulation. We also have communal picnics every day, which encourages social interaction.

These children were looked after by 92 fantastic staff who worked for a total of 775 days, an average of 8.5 days each.

Please find below links to our various schemes where more information, including parental feedback can be found.

Easter - For the first time we were able to run for 3 days in Manchester.

Whit - For the second year we ran schemes at Whit.

Each year we ask the parents to complete an evaluation form so that we can continue to improve the service that we offer.

We wrote to 142 parents. The number that responded was 67 (47%). This was a much better response rate than the previous year when forms were handed out by the team leaders.

Of the respondees 15% of the children were new this year whilst 61% have attended for 4 or more years.

54% originally heard about the scheme via their school.

88% were introduced to the staff member at the beginning of the day and 91% had the opportunity at the end of the day.

When asked if they were clear who to contact, satisfied with the range of activities and satisfied with the number of days offered only one respondee in each case said "No".

Probably most important, when asked if their child appeared to enjoy the scheme 92% said "yes" or "very much" with another 6% saying "Mostly". Again only one respondee answered in the negative.

We feel that these are excellent results but will continue to listen to your comments to further improve what we do.

2009
